fascination...

well, i am going to have to hand it to em and henry...they may not blog, but now i am interested in the craigslist phenomena...i have spent much time this week reading the 'missed connections'...i sense it to be a bit romantic- but then again, it could be slightly awkward and creepy...i also have a hunch that it feeds the narcissus gene...

i.e.-(title of post) MH-I guess you need to know...

"Better late than never I guess...I think I've loved you since the first time I layed eyes on you. But I was always afraid to tell you, for fear of rejection. But I would have given you the world if you would have taken it from me. Too late now, I guess. But if not, e-mail me through here.
-your buddy "

so, as you can see, i am indeed MH...seriously- how many qualifiers are there? :) i thought that blogging was somewhat with it...i guess i am waaaaay behind...if i would have known about this four weeks ago, i could have posted my coincidences....or could have written to the man on the bicycle on guadelupe...this gets tricky doesn't it?

well- this has been fun...my blood pressure is still high from seeing "jesus camp"....i couldn't possibly write about it right now...gotta process my fears and outrages...i bet you could link to the sage and find an interesting point of view!! sweet dreams all...

Oh, you crazy craigslister. That site is strange. I'm glad you got to see the appalling piece of work that is Jesus Camp.

appalling and terrifying...there were approximately 100 sentences in this documentary that scared the bejesus out of me...

take away the speaking in tongues, and you have pretty much got a picture of what atmosphere i grew up in...

the kicker for me was the neglect of this children's minister to see she was initiating violence...my favorite line was the air america host saying, "God has a special place for people who mess with children..."

so this is it...the future of america...:-0

You said it. If the Christian Right of today tells us anything, it's that these kids really ARE the future, both of America and the Church. Scary, huh? These folks are serious about retaking America for Christianity; or, rather, their particular (and peculiar) vision of Christianity. Are we serious about stopping them? The movie is right - we have not taken the Christian Right seriously for the last 20 years, and look what has happened! They really ARE whittling away at the separation between church and state; when they succeed in eroding that separation completely, this will not be a very fun country to be in. 'Cause, if you remember, we've done that before in America, they were called the Puritans. And they burned witches. And something tells me that some of us might be considered witches by these extemists.

go and get christianity today and read the reformed article...then look at the add right after the article...it's hysterical...this is the paradox of hysteria...
