the "n" word...

no, not that "n" word...this "n" word is equally destructive...and it goes beyond mere language...after reading this article, i've come to a few alarming conclusions...

granted, i'll give it to you that this is a progressive opinion...but i have to say, even with the slant to the left, it's disturbing to think that our government's best reply to the "n" question gets this response- "all options are on the table"...

in my niebuhr class, reinhold defines love as this- (summed up by ismael): to embody love within history, you will fail...or- love, as lived by Christ, has no capacity to resist the enemy...so, and i quote ismael- "take the Christ route, and you will be crucified"...which is well documented by pacifists like MLK, etc...

so when i put this idea of love in conversation with this particular situation, what could possibly be a good outcome? it is possible that life will be lost whether we engage, or not engage...i wonder if the same theory of "strike before struck" could be juxtaposed with "love before loved?" i don't know- and i am well aware there are many tensions involved...maybe i give humanity too much credit...

i guess the greater question is what do we do? especially when the "kurios" is the head of our household?

p.s. i'm sad...
