funnies...

one of my favorite memories this year goes like this...

context: crowded room with many people seated around tables. introductions are being made and the going tag line is "i'm getting married this summer"...which by the way, congratulations to the myriads of matrimonial connections made this summer...oh yeah, introductions...

renee: hi, i'm renee...i am from floyd's knobs, indiana...

monica: is that one word? (snickering in a quiet kind of way)

renee: no, in fact it's two words.........i have no idea who floyd is but i grew up on his knobs...

signing over the nation...

i rarely get the heeby-jeebies from people...but this morning i awoke to a national story in the nytimes and then the constant media coverage of the change of presidency from bush to chaney...

oh my god...

if i have ever prayed for bush, which i admit is not very often except that the time pass quickly until he is gone, i am praying today that the man who shoots his friends will not explicitly be the "president"...which he is, techinically...

millions of people daily get a scope up their butt...and, to be honest, i did not know that they had to sign over their businesses to take the scope...or have someone to adopt their children ready in case it goes bad...so why all the media hoopla? why the words "president/vice-president"? i mean "vice-president" is enough to give me the runs...

let's pray this all together today:

Oh Lord,
hear us in our time of need
deliver the president into a state of good health
save us from a threatening time of trial
and deliver us from evil

seriously, look at every head line...the media is practically making sure that anyone with a pair of eyes and an easy saturday morning ends up with nausea and vomiting...

m & m vacation...

it's really the vacation i have never taken in austin...and my cohort are having a pretty decent time...last night we saw parker posey in broken english...seriously, go see it...

she is helping me knock out a huge to do list...but first we have to go and eat lunch...then go to happy hour...then go see another indie film....then have a night cap....then start all over tomorrow :)

he is beautiful...

today, the confirmation that i am still in love with mark wahlberg came through about 1800 CST...

i wonder why conservatives think they are the only political party that believes in family values?
